Could the reason for so few P-Women be the same as for the paucity of

comedians? A rad-fem-lesbian told me years ago that the way that you

that you're in a feminist bookstore is that there's no humor section.
But
seriously, most guys try to be funny and many women are kind enough to
laugh. Does the process of reading Pynch somehow almost involve the
reader
in creating humor, partly in order to stay removed from the fray?
