Wha? The suggestion that Pynchon wrote the 'Watts' article solely for money
or self-promotion is a cynical viewpoint. Sure it is. "Writing to make money
is cynical" ain't even close to what I wrote.

Otoh, the suggestion that there's nothing in the article to suggest that
Pynchon even went to Watts is just plain stoopid.
