Baroque cycle

I've just started "Snow Crash." So far, so good. It is cyberpunk ala
Gibson. The writing doesn't exactly shine, but it's not bad. I'd heard so
many good things about Stephensen that I figured his SciFi must be pretty
good, and Snow Crash has good reviews. I like the specifics of the
political/economic future he describes, and I think these specifics are what
distinguish him from Gibson in this genre. Gibson is more visually poetic,
but less than specific in the details. Both are good.

I'm glad to hear Stephenson's Baroque Cycle shows an improvement in his
writing. I do plan to read them sometime soon.
