As a matter of fact, Claro was co translator of M&D. with Brice 
Matthieusent. At the time when, their translation was published in 
France both contributed articles about Pynchon to a French literary 
review, "Les Episodes":  'Entre les lignes' (Between the lines) and 'Vie 
et vortex de Thomas Pynchon' (Life and Vortes of Thomas Pynchon) by 
Claro. 'La perluète' (The ampersand) by Brice Matthieussent.

Claro's second article is in fact a kind of bio-bibliography time line. 
He mentions the novels and stories and refers to the blurb activity but 
he also adds P's earlier published works (age 15 in Oyster Bay High 
School's journal : Purple and Gold 9 : Voice of the Hamster (4 
instalments in 52-53), Ye legend of Sir Stupid and the Purple Knight, 
and The Boys (both in Purple and Gold 9,  n°6 of March 1953.)
Wonder if any copie of these juvenilia is still extent.

He also mentions 'Togetherness',  an article about missiles in the 
december 1960 issue of Aerospace Safety (published by the US Air force).
