TRP Translation Blunders

I am sure that translating TRP is a heavy task, and even the best of
translators cannot avoid some mistakes regarding the rendition of Pynchon's
lexical exploits. However, there are real gems. I've just read an
interesting article about the blunders in two Russian translations of V, one
of which, by the away is available to me. The article is there
http://www.boidonochi.spb.ru/pynchon/pynchoniada/saved/8r.html, but it's in
Russian of course.
I will give you just one example of the translators' blunder. At the end of
the first chapter of V Profane and Angel run across the street holding the
deadly drunk Geronimo "like a battering ram". And what do you think, in one
translation it came out as "like a dead male sheep", and in the other one --
"like a violent lamb". If you've come across any suchlike blunder in any
translation of Pynchon, could you give some examples?

Y.
