You say Tibet, I say Puerto Rico, and can continue to
match you expansionist crime for expansionist crime.

More interesting, perhaps, is speculating whether or
not G8 capitalism/globalization is a desirable
phenomenon in the world of Thomas Pynchon's fiction. 
Seems to me the novels set up multinational
corporations and the systems that support them as part
of, an extension of and interdependent with a Nazi
economy based on slave labor, as depicted in GR, M&D,
etc. 

Whether or not jbor is a neo-Nazi reactionary or just
a garden-variety spoiled bourgeois academic eager to
protect his economic privileges is a far less
fascinating topic than what Pynchon's work has to say
about the world we live in.  Just a personal
preference, of course.
