NP re. fake pics and other hoaxes

The list used to be much more vital.  Go to the archives and follow the two 
GRGR's (Gravity's Rainbow Group Reads), the first one starting back in 1996, 
I think.  But those things take a LONG time to complete, and thus they 
require a real commitment from a critical mass of participants.  And one is 
not likely to want to do a GRGR twice, at least not for a long while, so 
after that core group has worked through GR, MD, V, VL, where's one to go 
(besides COL49)?  Then when chatter and silence pervade, participants look 
for other outlets.

I bought _Cloud Atlas_ also, and will start it in about a week (as soon as I 
finish _Humbolt's Gift_).  But when some here read _Pale Fire_ together, the 
real trolls started bitching...

But, then, what else could they do?
