well, meg if the new book is slated for Fall 2005 (which it is rumored
to be), then I would guess an announcement shortly, if 6 months before
publication is the norm. (M&D was announced in October of 1996,
released in April of 1997--god has been that long?)

makes opening up the paper everyday a welcome task.

eagerly awaiting the new Vollman novel about the eastern front in ww2
and cormac's no country for old men.  currently re-reading Blood
Meridian, god help me.

also a great memoir, The Hooligan's Return ny Norman Manea one of
Romania's famous writers
