Luddites and my real life

I'd love to be a Luddite; it sounds so pure and romantic. 
Unfortunately I'm too lazy.  I love my microwave and my cell phone 
(which is usually turned off).   The Mac  (which is usually on) is 
the best thing since sliced bread.

Used to be in the hippie commune days, that  the men wanted to go to 
the hills with their electric chain saws and leave the women to do 
without the blender.  Huh!

I do see the Luddite mentality today in the resistance to genetic 
modification of food and people, even when it will be beneficial for 
food production and some elimination of pollution,  even when it can 
eliminate some diseases.  That's mostly where I see people being 
afraid or angry about technology in their lives.
