Is it my imagination, or have they pretty much purged the list of
emotionally inconvenient war movies like

Paths of Glory
Henry V
Full Metal Jacket
Platoon
Apocalypse Now
Mash
Throne of Blood

On the other hand they do include Dr. Strangelove, which is safe I
guess because so many people would actually throw in with the Sterling
Hayden character, who makes a damn fine demented argument for bringin
about the end of the world.

They partially redeem themselves with their choice of Westerns, which
includes "Unforgiven" and my personal favorite "Once Upon a Time in the
West", which includes the exchange:
Loathsome Railroad Magnate to his Thug: "Do you like sitting behind
that desk?"
Murderous Thug, stroking the burl: "It's almost like holding a gun.
Only much more powerful."
