GRGR 1,3 - Slinky style / talent / identity ?

One of the major points in GR is that The Firm (aka "They") is 
multi-trans-sans-national.  And it has been around for a very long time.  
Slothrop is one of Their long-term projects.  He's not someone who's talent 
has just been recently discovered.  So the babe-magnet aspect is 
interesting, but not the core of his talent.  His talent is 
rocket-orientation, with maybe an aspect Oneirine added (for time 
manipulation) & Imipolex (the material of the future).

I think this all implies that the new apocalypse is not something that They 
are looking to avoid.  In fact I'd say they are rushing toward it at full 
speed.
