Yeah...I would love to see TRP win...but, for at least
the past few decades, the Prize has been less about
trail-blazing innovative pyrotechnic expressions, or
even acknowledgement of monstrous talent, and more
about moral messages and ethical points of
view.....accomplishment in powerfull and idiosyncratic
imagery, for example, is not on the priority list for
the Swedish academy....sad thing for a person with my
biases; I admire dazzling execution and virtuosity (
as Johm Barth does ) gratuitously...."content" is
important, but technique is integral; I concur with
W.H.Auden: " writing poetry without meter is like
playing tennis with the net down"
