Money talks, but Teflon walks.  Nothing sticks to the shoes of conservatives
in the USA long enough for the public to remember if that really is Shinola
on those shoes.  If a centralist, a liberal, or, god forbid, a radical made
the same mistakes, there’d be no mistaking the tar applied to them for
anything else.  

In my opinion, the Democrats can't win based on Republican mistakes or
misbehavior.  They need to convince the public that they have a better plan,
and that it's one that they can fulfill.

There's quite a huge hue-and-cry "blame game" starting, and I wouldn't be at
all surprised if a few major (though not Bush himself) heads roll, e.g., the
FEMA head and the Louisiana governor (who's going to set back the women's
movement somewhat, I'm afraid)...I think it practically guarantees that the
Democrats will win the presidency in '08.
