Gov. Blanco did nothing wrong. She declared a State of Emergency the day
BEFORE the storm hit land, giving FEMA all it needed to set its machinery in
motion, but nothing happened (except press conferences) for many days
afterward. If Blanco is guilty of anything, it's that she was visibly
emotional, which makes her LOOK helpless. But she's been the best governor
we've had in Louisiana in at least a decade.
'08 is too far away to see, but '06 might very well be a watershed for the
Democrats.
