Maybe not everybody agrees with this value judgement
of the new novel.
It's relatively difficult to tell anything about
anything based on this brief excerpt, assuming that's
what it is. Obviously, the publisher believes they
have a winner with ATD.
Why is it so difficult for people (not Spencer,
particularly) to keep an open mind until the book
appears and can be read in full?
Also, instead of just calling it "dreadful" or a
"joke" - do you guys (not "Morris", of course, no
more than my dog does) know how to evaluate a piece
of writing through close reading, offering specific
examples from the text that support such a judgement?
That would make much more interesting reading than
bootless insults.
