Yeah, by offering hands-on physical healing instead of
fisticuffs or gunplay, which might be seen as 
undercutting or inverting the typical Western's
glorification of violence; also recalls, for me, 
Brock Vond's interest in Lombroso's theories of in
Vineland, too.
