Pynchon on Simpsons

I was hoping he'd give the recipe for a gin
marshmallow.  How do you keep the gin from eating away
at the marshmallow?

I'm hardly shocked that Pynchon is willing to do a
voiceover on the Simpsons.  Not to be presumptuous,
but the man obviously loves his cartoons.

Much mention has been made of the great Chuck Jones,
but equal credit should go to the great Bob Clampett,
who made some of the classic (a-and strange!) early
Warner Brothers cartoons, like Dough for the Dodo and
Porky in Wackyland.  His best works share a sense of
boundless surrealism with Pynchon at his most 'out'. 
And let's not forget that master of cartoon sadism,
Tex Avery.  TRP owes them both a debt of influence.
