America's Drunkest Cities

Really? Academics on a Pynchon list? Who'd have thought. As it happens, I've been through my share of them as well, and found most to be, on average, lightweights with phenomenal tastes in expensive single malt scotches. It works out well for all of us.
However, I still say that as a working musician, I get the prize.

Did I mention that band practice takes place in my home studio which has a well stocked bar?
I can't drink on my day job due to its nature involving large commercial vehicles and often police details. It wouldn't look good, not to mention that it would violate federal laws.
You may not be able to claim victory yet. There are a few academics around here. Professors have been known to keep a bottle or two in the bottom left desk drawer.

I'm a musician, so my office is a bar. I am not only allowed, but
encouraged to drink while working, so I think I win.
