 . . . the "scholars", having made personal bailiwicks out of GR and 49 (and being whizzes at looking up weird Jacobean words and historical references to London Newspapers during the Blitz), choose to underestimate "Vineland", which can just as easily be "decoded" as an anti-Reagan polemic or a panorama/panegyric of Leftist activities in America's postwar years. Gotta get that Alliteration in the title ["Oh I see," sez Commando Connie, "it has to be allierative. How about . . . um . . .discharge dumplings?"] if your gonna get published at the post-grad level. Don't wanna piss off the sources of any of those big ticket endowments now, do we?
