atd dissapointment

Feeling sentimental and expansive this morning I
guess, as I prepare to dive back into ATD, but this
reminds me of an afternoon a long time ago, when I was
in high school, and heard a new song on the radio,
sounded something like The Beatles, but nothing I'd
heard before, this was post-Sgt. Pepper, I'm driving
in my dune buggy down Lafayette Blvd in Phoenix,
Arizona -- our neighborhood that used to be only an
orange and grapefruit orchard and which still had most
of the trees, they took only enough to put in houses
and streets, we had 30-something fruit-bearing trees
in our front yard -- and only gradually did it dawn on
dense young me that it was in fact The Beatles, I
forget which song, but at that moment it was like the
kaleidoscope shaking down and freezing for a moment
and there they were the beloved mop-heads, and after
that it made perfect sense that this was their newest
song, yeah, that's what it sounds like, what they do
next....

Having said that, I can only imagine how painful it
must feel to be so disappointed, and I mean that
sincerely, I was hoping against hope, as they say,
that our man had not faltered or failed, and while I
haven't gotten through to the end, *almost but not
quite all* reports are that's not the case. Please
accept my condolences.
