I'm only at page 700 so it's possible that i don't know what i'm talking
about, but isn't the Creature one of the beings that the Anasazi drew?
They are the creatures who recommend not switching to electric lighting.
that whole seen is an alternative universe, right?

I respond:
Makes sense, in that generally it seems to be the deadly undertow lurking
beneath "civilization," be that terrorism, global warming,
misunderstood/angry apes, what-have-you. For me, that Creature conjured up
memories of the Lubeck angel in GR. not saying there's a direct
connection, just felt reminiscent.
