Thanks, Tore! I'm trying to keep the wiki entry to unambiguous errors; see
below for how another ear reads two of your examples.

This harks back to "silvery grouting": I read it as "grouting, [a material
that is not in fact silver but] some composite with a shine as soft as that
of silver."

It's Grisha speaking here, and dropped articles are a conventional
caricature of Russians speaking English. The once-popular "Rocky and
Bullwinkle" TV cartoon show featured Boris and Natasha: "What is problem,
Boris?" "Is moose and squirrel !"
