I hestitate to ask this, but...
I'm a journalist, and have just begun doing a bit of freelancing for Wired. I'm putting together a pitch memo for my editors there, and was considering suggesting a short item for their "Posts" section on the upcoming AtD group read. The basic angle would be something along the lines of: if journalism is the first draft of history, then this is the first draft of literary criticism. I'd probably want to pull some select quotes from the read, briefly mention a couple of debates, etc., but I'd contact any participants before using their monikers or words. which means that you won't have to worry that your words will be usurped without your knowledge.
To be honest, I think it's pretty unlikely that the Wired folks will go for this, but I'd like to pitch it anyway. Before I do, though, I wanted to make sure that this list's participants wouldn't take umbrage. I'm happy to answer any questions or field any feedback, on- or offline. And whatever the case, I am looking forward to the group read.
Best,
J.
