I don't like the Introduction. Pynchon isn't a funny guy. He tries, but he's 
not funny. He's strange and when I read his fiction I can put up with him, 
but his prose are junk. Hell, a million people could do a better job of 
introducing that slow learner book.

TSI is a brilliant little tale, but it's got some major problems. P says he 
likes the story, but he didn't bother to fix it up. Too bad. Most of the 
black guy in the hotel dreaming stuff can go. A lot of the piled up military 
industrial complex rocket stuff can go too. The Tom Swift as racist crap 
getting into average little brains is a bit condescending. Makes me wonder 
about TRP's supposed high-low brow themes. He seems a reactionary at times.
