I've only read Wind-up Bird and South of the Border West of the Sun, and 
liked them both, but can't get up any enthusiasm to read more.  Partly it's the 
jacket synopses which make the books sound so precious and cute (and he does 
veer in the direction of cute).  I can't imagine ever reading the new one, just 
for this reason.  But I like his feel for urban Japan and I like the rhythm of 
his prose--he is very well translated. Finally, though, there are meatier fish 
to fry, I think.
