Metaphor and Metonymy: The Cognitive Trump-Cards of Linguistic Humour

...in the General Theory of Verbal Humour (GTVH)...
This names a new TOE (Theory of Everything) to me.

This paper's early mention of Von Braun and its final illumination
of light vs. light-source might bear upon GR. (cf. Byron the Bulb.)

What caught me up was this opening triad (my shouting):
The language of humour ranges from the immediacy of bodily form and function,
IT ALL ITS SENSORY, SEXUAL AND SCATOLOGICAL GLORY,
to the sublime reaches of abstract thought.

I have lately been much pondering my erotic vision I reported here,

summarizing http://home.earthlink.net/~glenn_scheper/2005-04-09.htm
 1. I would exposit autofellatio.
 2. A woman appears, initiates coitus.
 3. A old man with erection appears.
 4. A choice given: in anus or mouth? -- Mouth.
 5. The man pours semen from his mouth into my mouth.
 6. I am abject: I resolve to war against it all.
 7. The scene is now a great city, or temple.

In regards to the (sensory, sexual, scatological) triad--
or let me particularize by Freudian (oral, genital, anal);
the stranger who poured his own semen due to autofellatio
from his mouth to mine (in the dream vision!) has shared
nothing more than a "WORD" at the (oral, sensory) level,
like Ezekial or John in Rev. were given scrolls to eat:

Word = eat this

However, the crux of "being numbered with transgressors" is that
the orthogonal triad given above can be associated as either/or:

 - (oral & genital) verus anal;

 - oral versus (genital & anal).

The first is the very erotic, scary, inventive realm of such
as Fellini, Pierce, Nash, Pynchon. The second, the hegemony.

Hmmm. Further reflection on reflexion is required to distinquish that
christic and more taboo realm, of the "auto"* from the merely *.
