NP Vollmann's / external referents (hyperlinks)

I haven't read anything by Vollmann either. I have two books right now, the
earliest (YBARA) and the latest (EC). I think I'll give him a try. I am put
off a little by his productivity, however, as literature is not the area in
which quantity transforms into quality, Joyce and Pynchon are the first to
come to my mind in this respect. They easily could have produced scores of
not-so-bad novels. Luckily for us they didn't.
