If it's Korda I'm sure he'll give it a fair review. Yardley (like Walter
Kirn) just despises much of Pynchon and the like write.
But in the end, who cares? Book reviewing should not be a career
I just finished McCarthy's The Road which I enjoyed very much. Blood
Meridian's focus was on the indiscriminate killers of the Glanton gang. The
Road (which is also being optioned for a movie) focuses on the man and boy
trying to avoid the roving bands of blood cults, anchorites, and
cannibals--like BM in reverse in a way.
up next is Franklin's Smonk--a very weird gothic western.
