1. The fact that Michiko Kakutani sometimes reviews great authors doesn't
make her a great reviewer, imho. She's alright. No more.
2. Self-confessed ignorance: I didn't know the subtlety of this division of
labour: Daily Times, Sunday Times, so nobody will allow Kakutani to review
the book for the Sunday Times?
3. No need to 'go back and read' her review of M&D (I'd rather 'go back
'and re-read M&D), I've read it several times. It's not brilliant imho, but
just like its author it's alright, no more.
