Pynchon vs. Pynchon/bashing reviewers

"Nuanced" or not, we still all got functional BS detectors, and it's real easy hearing knives being sharpened in the background, bets being settled, folks acting like they are above whatever text has been forced on them by the powers that be.  Fact is, the meaningful criticism will come from circles such as ours, people already aware of the potential complexities and pitfalls of Pynchon's fictions.
