Some folks are starting to annotate the novel and
that's great, imho, especially the way you're using
ATD and spoiler alerts, thanks.  

May I suggest that if you make the effort to look
something up in ATD and put it in an email to
pynchon-l, that you consider adding it to
http://pynchonwiki.com?  It's pretty painless and
you'll be helping to build a valuable resource.

Tim Ware has done a tremendous job of indexing ATD and
putting the index in http://pynchonwiki.com --
fleshing out those entries with more information, and
adding discussion pages for them, is the next order of
business.  

Not to take away anything from this forum, that is
specifically not my intent, just to remind folks who
might be interested, of another opportunity to build a
valuable resource for Pynchon readers.
