Handling ATD

My first copy of GR was the classic, large, paperback repro of the hardcover; I read it so many times, not to mention ungently, that it the spine is covered over with black cloth electrical tape.

My copy was also in good shape in spite of Amazon, UPS and the
local foggy conditions here near Bakersfield. That said, I have
an LL Bean tote bag (blue and green stripes) which is very
serviceable and I tote the thing everywhere. There are a few ink
marks and pencil marks and butter marks in it (from the popcorn last
night) - I don't think I've spilled coffee in it yet but ... and
I'll doubt if I'll break the spine because it's so thick it just
rests there. I'll be doing far more note-taking in it on my second
read when I know what I'm kind looking for. (There are several
convenient blank pages in the back of this book!)

I have no idea if I'll get another one or not - probably prior to a
third reading of this one - should that day ever come to pass. I've
read my original copy of (1998) Underworld 3 or 4 times and it's in
truly pathetic condition (to make you weep) , but I had to buy
another Pale Fire.
