No, of course not.

When somebody puts on the BS spectacles, all they can
see is BS.

Thankfully, braindead critics of the pynchonwiki will
soon become as irrelevant as the folks who attack
anybody for taking Pynchon seriously, and space will
open up for constructive criticism leading to
improvements. I just hate to see these voices trying
to poison the project from the start.

I continue to mention http://pynchonwiki here in the
hope of attracting more contributors who would like to
help build it.

I can't think of one person here who would wouldn't be
able to distinguish the interpretive comments from
those that are intended to be more straight-ahead
facts. And, it's worth repeating, if you don't like
what's written in the pynchonwiki, you can change it.
Also, not only can you change the content, the process
is transparent - every item and action can be
discussed, click "discussion" on any page to read or
start one.

I don't see how http://pynchonwiki.com threatens any
existing Pynchon resource, either - the more the
merrier, imo. We need online bibliographies of
writings about Thomas Pynchon, archives of articles,
discussion groups, etc. A huge body of knowledge about
Pynchon's writing has already been generated out
there, making more of it into accessible seems a
worthy objective.

Worth underscoring what was previously mentioned - Tim
Ware has a track record for providing truly valuable
online resources to the Pynchon community, on a
non-commercial basis, for a long time now. That's
worth supporting, imo, and nobody's asking anybody for
anything but a little time. Nobody's making any profit
on this. If you don't want to help, don't, but please
don't put up roadblocks or try to dissuade others from
helping. In terms this group can understand, that
would be a truly shitty thing to do.
