Again, http://pynchonwiki.com is the place for this
discussion about how interpretations and opinions are
to be handled - go to the main page, click discussion
and let your concerns be heard. Nothing is gained by
criticizing pynchonwiki here on pynchon-l, imo, I'm
here to invite people to take a look and participate
if they're interested.

I think it's pretty well agreed that a completely
open, free-for-all format doesn't work in some wikis -
isn't that where they are at Wikipedia? - and all I
can say is, the wiki format lets these concerns be
raised and addressed, transparently, at the wiki
itself. It's an evolving architecture for
collaboration, friction is bound to be part of the
process, but people of good will can rise above it I
expect.

A literary wiki is going to be different from an
encyclopedia wiki, because literary discussion is all
interpretation all the time, there are very few pieces
of information that might be considered hard-and-fast
"facts" to discuss about a literary work, apart from
the metadata about its creator, situation of creation,
etc., even the words on the page can come into
dispute, just when you'd think that printed there, in
black and white, would make that impossible.
