Pynchonoid, for an online Ebonics glossary, have you ever consulted <
http://www.urbandictionary.com/>?  It's wiki-ish in its format, and has some
pretty obscure stuff on it like yardie slang, not only Ebonics.  "Any
battiboy won test me, get dem rudeboy gunclap, said."

And Ya Sam, for contempo American female writers, I'd point you to Marisha
Pessl, who seems to be getting a pretty good response for her debut: <

I haven't read it yet, but I'm pretty interested.  Its chapter headings are
canonical Western novels listed as though on a syllabus, so I'd imagine it'd
be full of fun allusions to tackle.  Anyone read it?
