I liked it from first listen, and it definitely does grow on you the more
you hear it. Seen as part of a trilogy, I think I will always prefer "Love &
Theft" as a whole. But I still think it's pretty good, and it has a rusty
apocalyptic vibe that I really dig. Kind of, "Been there, done that, a few
times; now I'm content to just come down from the mountain and pronounce
judgment."
I've been really into a few new albums lately -- Beck, the Decemberists,
Hank III, Tool, Acid Mothers Temple....

PS: Semi-guilty confession.... I bought my copy of "Love and Theft" the day
it came out -- September 11, 2001. In fact, I bought it while the towers
burned as I walked down Seventh Avenue. I know how callous that sounds now,
but it brought me a strange kind of comfort in the middle of chaos.
