I don't know about "heavy" grounding, but there's plenty of references
to the Bible in GR, especially in the elect/preterite and passed-over
bits. There's also the rocket sacrafice. These could both be seen in
Old and New Testaments.
Just because you're ancestry is Jewish shouldn't scare you away from
the New Testament. It's not like you have to convert, or should be
afraid of contamination or something.
