She might've just meant that there was no way a work (and presumable
complex) that long could be judged by nov 15th but I agree it's a lame
excuse
Lethem is on the committee--wonder what his take on it is.
in any case, the nominee list is medicore--writing a 9/11 novel is pretty
lazy use of one's imagination and high fatigue factor from discerning
reading public. kalfus had a great idea and his new novel began well but up
and died quickly--the ending is quite moronic.
