Amazon.co.uk adjusted the page count of the British edition from 960 to 
1104. Front matter, blank pages etc. included, this seems to tally nicely 
with the 1085 pages reviewers have reported, so there is hope that the 
British edition will have the same pagination as the American. Everything 
else would be pretty annoying, really, and it would certainly set some 
obstacles in the way of a transatlantic group read:

Yank: "So, what should we make of the moving and lyrical description of the 
aging Tesla experimenting with Iceland Spar on p. 435, and how should we 
interpret the technical discussion of refraction?"

Limey: "Page 435? The only thing I can find on p. 435 is a sensuous 
description of a beautiful woman drowning slowly in Belgian mayonnaise."
