Dude, take a chill pill. Read some Pynchon - crack
open everybody's beloved Gravity's Rainbow, just kick
back and enjoy the beauty of its poetry....then check
out http://pynchonwiki.com even if you won't get
invited to play - they're looking for folks a tad less
misanthropic and destructive, sorry, but I hear
they're still taking applications at that Malediction
Fest some folks were talking about, they need another
Bloody Pain In The Ass to complete a foursome, you're
perfect for the role, it's going to be some fun...
FYI, I have read at least 50 more pages of Against the
Day than you have, look forward to finishing the
novel, expect Pynchon fans and critics will love it,
it will stay on the bestsellr list for awhile then
turn up remaindered in bookstores everywhere at some
future moment; I predict that theorists will write
about it for the next 25 years at minimum as they come
to appreciate its depths and intricacies and as they
discover interconnections between Against the Day and
Pynchon's earlier novels; Pynchon will remain on the
Nobel Prize for Literature candidate short-list until
he wins the prize and, most important, future
generations will uniformly fall down on their knees in
adoration of the Novelist Who Calls Himself Thomas
Pynchon, inscribing and intoning his texts on the
hallowed halls of learning, literature, science, and
kazoo instruction everywhere, treasuring his books for
centuries to come.
Can I get an Amen.
