I remember David's post very well, there were some other initial
reactions to that incident that will be misjudged if read out of the
context of those very emotional days five years ago.

But whether one interprets September 11 simply as a giant crime of
some political criminals backed by a totalitarian government (and
therefore the Afghanistan war as justified) or as a karmic retribution
for alleged crimes of various US-governments (as Barbara did) or as
simply inevitable given the history of El Kaida attacks before that
day I still see the problem that the current president is continuously
abusing the attacks for purposes I don't understand because they are
clearly and obviously not in the interest of the American people.

And now the Bushies fucked us Germans into their war too . . . my
nephew is serving in the Marine . . . shit!
