Well, after Ya Sam's last post where he found 
this line,  "Photons live in the eternally 
instantaneous "here and now," Zen was the
obvious next step.  Clearly quite a few others 
have made this connection a long time ago 
(but not me).

Looks like Pynchon is making the connection, and he's underlining the 
connection as it's Kit who's gonna to be going along for that particular ride.
