Robert Anton Wilson's "Masks of the Illuminati" blends the reality of
the Golden Dawn in with a lot of other good stuff, and at least one
really groan-inducing pun...

Perhaps not everyone sees Pynchon as a guidance counselor, but
(IMHO) throughout AtD, the dynamiters, the titans of finance, 
and the T.W.I.T's are portrayed readably, interestingly, 
somewhat sympathetically - and in a way that would never make 
anybody want to become one...(whereas I wouldn't mind being a Chum)
