what language should i start to learn?

Strange question for this list: I speak only English, but have the
opportunity, being in college, to study a language and travel to a place
that speaks that language. There's nothing holding me to any language, but I
have no way of deciding. Arabic is an option. German? What language has a
lot of good writers? German just for Kafka, but did any other good
literature come out of the German language?Thanks
