what language should i start to learn?

If you have only two options, German or Arabic, and your priority is 
literature I would advise to learn German. The corpus of German literature 
of good quality is tremendous, moreover some of German masterpieces still 
have not been translated into English. Here is a list of German language 
writers it would be bliss to be able read in the original: Wolfgang Goethe, 
Thomas Mann, Robert Musil, Hermann Broch, Alfred Doblin, Hans Henny Jahnn, 
Arno Schmidt, Thomas Bernhard, Hermann Hesse, Gunter Grass, Heinrich Boll, 
Elias Canetti, Uwe Johnson, Peter Weiss. Don't forget about Rilke's poetry: 
( Ein jeder Engel ist schrecklich) and of course Kafka.
