It's no guarantee that the writers are good, but here are top 25
languages that users of LibraryThing own works by in translation. The
first five make sense to me if good literature is the criterion.

French (208,442), German (156,109), Japanese (111,324), Spanish
(67,207), Russian (61,811), Italian (59,083), Greek (Ancient)
(51,755), Latin (37,205), Portuguese (19,152), Swedish (16,572),
Chinese (15,486), Dutch (15,276), Multiple languages (12,910),
Norwegian (12,295), Hebrew (11,094), Danish (10,511), Czech (9,872),
English (Middle) (9,463), Polish (8,272), Arabic (7,092), Old English
(4,249), Sanskrit (3,567), Finnish (2,840), Persian (2,770), Greek
(2,684)
