Wikipedia dangers

I would just like to reply that I am also an admirer of Mr. Fisk and when I
use WikiP. I check the citations.

It's a great tool to find the original sources if cited.

That's all - good discussion though.

Subject: Wikipedia dangers

I like wikipedia and have become a frequent user, but a recent article by
Robert Fisk, who I regard as one of the most reliable and balanced reporters
from the near east was pretty disturbing. In a recent article
<http://news.independent.co.uk/world/fisk/article2469270.ece> Fisk details
how false wikipedia entries were used by Canadian immigration to stop Taner
Akcam a Turkish scholar who used Turkish documents to prove the Armenian
genocide in his book A Shameful Act. The canadians behaved civilly and
sorted it out but the implications were creepy.

I know this is off topic but Wikipedia is a major info source here and
perhaps a bit of discussion would be appropriate.
