Thots on the sections we are discussing..
yes, the Chums seem to be preventing the Trespassers accidently. Do our adventure stories, our Historical myths, keep the past from being revisited...and changed?
Candlebrow, as a stand-in for the Academy, is founded on corporate greed (turned into endowments).
Music is a good in Pynchon...the Harmonica Band activities are...playing music, marching
and playing, in unison, in a unified commitment to being a band? a group wanting to make music right? (other activities: hanging out together, being human together?)......Is this why,
as the Chums meet the Chumettes and marry and make families, they remember this time
as music students?....NOT in any way as Time Out of Time happenings, but as the start of
becoming human?
even thought the Chums are "good'....the organjization they work for is NOT Quite Good, yes?...so, as the Chums' group goes thru changes, the changes seem to effect them as
an org most.....NO?
