Actually, you've got the wrong example. Here it says 'he saw a Turk in the 
corner'. I'm very suspicious about the French provenance by the way, and 
simply offered the correct grammatical form. But I did find this:

Nous voici dans le 'coin turc' avec Mamie et Sophie quand elles sont venues 
à Ankara en février 2006....
