TRP on the front page ... (spoliers alert!)

Cute.

The clue "They all had books out this year" - hard to read but there at
the top of the page - is not so helpful to us Yanks, since with the
exception of OBA these writers appear to be Brits.

Still, I was able to get all but one:

1. To pat + a barking creature = Pat Barker

2. Grey + ham + swift (the bird) = Graham Swift

3. ?

4. E + hen + banks (of a river)= Iain Banks

5. Dick (as in a detective) + France + S = Dick Francis

6. Tom (male cat) + Ass + to pinch + N = Thomas Pynchon

3 has me stumped. There's a bird that I can't identify; a Spanish
cleric (Dom?), and then an antique steam roller moving forward (to
roll? to flattern? to pave?)

Foax:

A couple of pics (sorry, I don't have a scanner) of the front page of the Saturday Times Books section featuring some Simon Drew puzzles. The last caught my attention.
